Soprano Elizabeth Baldwin is a product of San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program. She has been praised by the San Francisco Examineras “ferociously talented.” Miss Baldwin has performed all over the United States: as Sieglinde in Die Walkürewith the Miami Music Festival's Wagner Institute, Lady Macbeth in Verdi's Macbethwith the Opera Company of Middlebury (Connecticut), New York City's Loft Opera, and in a special concert presented by the Dallas Opera. The Chautauqua Operafeatured her as Tatiana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. She has also appeared as Tosca with Opera San Jose, the Kentucky Opera, the Fort Myers Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Youth Symphony; in the title role of Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh; as Amelia in Verdi’s Un ballo in mascherawith the Boston Youth Symphony, and Ellen Orford in Britten’s Peter Grimesat Chautauqua. On the concert stage, Miss Baldwin has been heard in Verdi's Requiemwith the Alabama Symphony; Beethoven's Symphony No. 9with the Akron Symphony, and Richard Strauss’ Vier Letzte Liederwith the Denver Philharmonic. She was also honored to return to her home state as special guest artist with the Toledo Operafor their annual gala concert. An active recitalist with a deep passion for German Lieder, Miss Baldwin's most recent collaborations include recitals with the Ravinia Music Festivaland the Tanglewood Music Festival. Ms. Baldwin was a national semi-finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Auditions;Grand Prize winner in both the Sullivan Foundation Competitionand the Nicholas Loren Vocal Competition; and first prize winner in theNationalOrpheus Vocal Competition, the National Opera Association Competition, theHeida Hermanns International Voice Competitionand the Mildred Miller International Vocal Competition.
